ROKA Signs 2x US Olympian Laura Bennett

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Laura BennettDALLAS, Texas. May 30, 2013 -- ROKA Sports, Inc. is thrilled to announce a multi-year sponsorship and partnership with two-time U.S. Olympian, Ironman 70.3 Champion and four-time ITU World Championship medalist Laura Bennett.

"I couldn't be more pleased to partner with ROKA." said Bennett. "I am blown away by the freedom that the Maverick Pro wetsuit provides me. I am finally able to leverage my swim weapon with zero compromise in my swim stroke. In my 15 year professional career I have never been as free and fast in a wetsuit as I am in the Maverick Pro. Being an elite swimmer all my life I used to dread wetsuit swims, now I understand how it feels to love them!"

"It is truly an honor to work with Laura." said ROKA CEO and Co-Founder Rob Canales. "We share a passion for triathlon, fast swimming, and great design. We are confident that our partnership will yield great results both on the race course and in future product development. Laura's deep international experience as a triathlete and her elite swimming background are true assets to the growing team at ROKA." Co-Founder Kurt Spenser added, "Laura was an NCAA All-American swimmer at Southern Methodist University before moving to triathlon and has been one of the top swimmers on the international circuit for over a decade.  She brings a unique perspective to our pro team, and we're excited to see what she can do in the coming years as she ventures into long course, non-drafting racing."

Laura Bennett joins ROKA's growing ranks of sponsored triathletes, led by three-time Wildflower Champion Jesse Thomas, five-time Ironman Champion and 49-time Ironman finisher Meredith Kessler, and up-and-comer Ashleigh Gentle, an ITU Junior World and two-time World Cup Champion. At the recent Ironman 70.3 US Pro Championship in St. George, Meredith Kessler and Bennett came out of the water first and third, respectively, both wearing the Maverick Pro wetsuit. Bennett noted, "I used to worry about taking a step into longer distances, as a wetsuit swim is almost inevitable, but now I can honestly say I am excited about it. I am looking forward to joining the innovative team behind ROKA's products as well as a great team of athletes."
Bennett will wear ROKA's Maverick Pro Wetsuit, Viper Pro Speed Suit, SIM Pro Shorts and other racing and training products currently in development.

ABOUT ROKA SPORTS

ROKA is a performance multisport brand that was founded in 2011 by Rob Canales and Kurt Spenser, two former varsity swimmers from Stanford University, who, after being frustrated by the wetsuit offerings on the market, set out to make the fastest wetsuit on the planet.  After two years of product development, the ROKA team launched their patent-pending Maverick wetsuit line this season.  While designing the Maverick, the ROKA team also developed a neoprene short for training, called the SIM.  ROKA is based in Dallas, Texas with employees in Los Angeles, California and Portland, Oregon.  Learn more at www.rokasports.com.
