The Beginning

ROKA Maverick Wetsuit

Thank you all so much for your support and interest in ROKA. We have put our hearts and souls into this for the past two years, and now we're ready to share it with you. This weekend, all the hard work, struggle and late nights are paying off in the most important way - for our athletes.

ROKA PRO Meredith Kessler crushed the swim at Ironman New Zealand, leading the race wire to wire. Wearing the Maverick Pro Fullsuit, she swam an incredible 47:37 leading all women out of the water by over 4 minutes — only 3 male pros were faster!!!! WOW. The Female version of the Maverick Pro could not have debuted on better shoulders. The Maverick Pro is not just designed to be faster than anything else out there, but also to leave you fresher heading into T1. Meredith proved that by nearly breaking the bike course record and racing out front all day! We are so inspired by Meredith as an athlete, but even more so as a person. She is that special breed that makes everyone around her better. We are so grateful for that.

Jesse Thomas - Triathlete MagazineFor those of you who have been following closely, you know that none of this would be possible without our wingman,"The Aviator", Jesse Thomas. Last season, Jesse took a huge leap of faith, trusting us to come up with a suit that would be faster than anything else for him. Rob and I knew that the Maverick prototypes were faster than any other suit on the market for us - former elite swimmers, but would it work for someone with no competitive swim background and some admitted deficiencies in the water? There were a lot of doubters. We had already fought through many design and manufacturing challenges to get the suit we wanted, but we knew this ultimate challenge would ultimately be the most rewarding.

The results? Jesse's first front pack swim and Olympic distance win at Rev3 Maine. The next race? His first Ironman win at 70.3 Poconos. As Jesse would say, "Booyah!" Those prototypes have gotten even faster now and we think that Jesse Thomas + ROKA is bad news for the competition in 2013.

Jesse Thomas

On Sunday March 3rd,  Jesse is competing against the best in the world at "Escape from Alcatraz." It's a monster swim, challenging course, and unbelievably stacked field. Good thing he is rocking the best wetsuit on the planet AND the best looking shades on the course!!! Follow us on Twitter for up-to-the-minute race updates and images.

Again, we can't thank you enough for your interest in ROKA.

Very limited quantities of the MAVERICK PRO wetsuit will be available soon, so stay tuned.

Stay inspired,

Kurt, Rob and the ROKA team.
